Barefoot Birth Pools operates as a sole trader hiring birth pools to parents-to-be. We work together with one of the longest established birth pool hire companies, Gentle Water. The pools are hired for a period of four weeks with an additional week to return the pool at the end of the hire. Further weeks can be purchased in advance agreement with Barefoot Birth Pools.
Additional homebirth and waterbirth related items can also be purchased from the Barefoot Birth Pools shop.
Barefoot Birth Pools puts the health and safety of customers before all else, aiming to provide a secure and relaxing experience from the first point of contact. We hope to provide a clear and informative service ensuring our customers feel supported at every stage of the process of hiring and using our birth pools.
Barefoot Birth Pools does not share information provided by our customers with third parties. Customer records are kept in a secure office and no financial information is stored at any point with the exception of the cheque provided by the customer for the purpose of the deposit. This cheque is held in a secure file and returned to the customer at the end of the hire for the customer to destroy in person. Should there be a need to bank the cheque the customer will be informed prior to this and should there be a remaining balance this will be sent by in the form of a cheque to the customer.
We offer payment by cheque, BACS and online using the secure paying terminal PayPal. We also offer payment over the telephone – when card information is provided over the telephone it is typed directly into the terminal and not stored in any way. We can only accept payments over the telephone from the card holder.
Should any personal information such as comments, testimonials, photographs or other similar statements be provided by the customer consent will be requested from Barefoot Birth Pools prior to use. A copy of this consent will be kept on file with said testimonial/photograph etc in case Barefoot Birth Pools are asked to produce it for publicity or marketing purposes.
If at any point a previous or future customer would like for us to send a copy of any of their information kept on file they can request for this to be sent to them by post using the contact information detailed below. For security purposes this can only be requested by the customer whose name the contract is held in and Barefoot Birth Pools may choose to request further identity verification by phone prior to releasing this.
All persons contacting Barefoot Birth Pools are invited to provide their details to receive the quarterly newsletter. All newsletters sent via email to customers have an option to opt out of further mailings and for their details to be removed from future mailings. When this does arise however, the customers details may be kept on file solely for the purpose of ensuring they do not receive any future correspondence. All individuals on the mailing list will have knowingly provided their information for this purpose. The contact lists for the mailing lists are kept in a secure location and are not accessible by third parties nor will Barefoot Birth Pools ever share this information with any other company.
Birth pools are available for collection by arrangement from our offices in Cambridgeshire free of charge. Birth pools being hired outside of local collection distances are dispatched via our courier service. This is charged separately to the hire costs of the birth pool and our full charges are listed here. During transit the birth pools are covered by the insurance of the courier and will require signing on receipt. Once the birth pool is delivered to your home it is the responsibility of the person hiring the pool to follow the terms and conditions as agreed in the contract and ensure the pool is used appropriately. Any problems should be reported immediately to Barefoot Birth Pools using the information listed below.
Purchases via Barefoot Birth Pools:
Items purchased via the shop section of Barefoot Birth Pools are dispatched free of charge with your birth pool with the exception of the Natal Hypnotherapy Home Birth Preparation CD, which will be posted out to you by First Class post on the first working day following your purchase. This is to allow adequate time to use the CD prior to the arrival of the pool. Should a customer wish for any other items in their order to also be dispatched early please contact Barefoot Birth Pools to request this using the information detailed below. There may be an additional charge for items sent separately.
The details of refunds and returns are detailed in your contract which is signed and returned to us prior to the beginning of your hire. In doing so you are agreeing to the terms of the contract. Further information of these terms are also detailed here.
Purchases via Barefoot Birth Pools:
Barefoot Birth Pools agrees to return and refund in full all products returned, unused within 14 days of receipt. In the unlikely event of an item purchased via Barefoot Birth Pools being faulty, we will of course, send a replacement product immediately to you.
